All Things Work Together .....

All Things Work Together...............

If you are like me, you like to have control.  You like to have things orderly.  You like to know "what's next".  And you hate uncertainty.  And when there is uncertainty, your mind runs constantly with different possibilities, both good and bad of what might be next.  One verse that has ministered to me lately is this well know verse:

 

Romans 8:28 KJV

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28 AMP

We are assured and know that (God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

3 Questions regarding this passage

1. What are all things?
1. the things that are good and make us happy
2. the things that we understand and can figure out on our own
3. are the bad things all things too?
4. are the things that confuse us and frustrate us all things
5. believing that there is a master plan and that God is orchestrating it, especially when it doesn’t make sense to us, that is really trusting God.  All things really means all things.

2. So who falls in the category of loving God?
1. Always look to the Word of God for answers, not the opinions of men
2. John 14:15-16 “If you love me, you will keep my commands.  And I will ask the Father, and will you give you another counselor to be with you forever.”
3. Those who love God are the ones who keep His commands.  
4. If you say you love God but there is no action to back that up, you are lying to yourself.  If you love God will you will have a desire to please Him, and you please Him by keeping His commands
3. What does it mean to be called according to His design and purpose
1. Micah 6:8 He has showed you, what is good.  And what does the Lord require of you?  To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
2. So people who walk in His design and purpose:
1. Act Justly,  they are in the will of God because they do what they know to be right.  
2. Love mercy, people who have the heart of God, show mercy to others and give them room to fail without writing them off -- It is the opposite of judgemental
3. Walk humbly with your God
1. recognize that Jesus is Lord, not us even though we spend a lot of time on our own throne, doing what we want to do
2. They look to see where God is moving around Him and join Him in what He is doing!!!!!

I pray that this verse and the 3 questions regarding this passage minister to you and gets you thinking. I know this, if you are a Christ follower, you can trust that all things truly do work together for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.  This does not mean that we will understand why, know when, or where and how God is working.  

It is not easy.  Goes against my make up.  But we must be patient and trust that God "has got this".  I love you God and I am working on trusting you more!
