The Promises of God

My Pastor has been focusing on two areas lately.  1.  The importance of prayer and 2. The promises of God.  And really they go hand in hand in the sense that I believe it is important that we pray the promises of God.  There is power in going before your heavenly Father and saying, God you said you would do this if I did this.  In America we like to forget the if part.  We just want God to give without us doing our part.  I really believe in 2015 God is really looking to bless His people.  Emphasis being on HIS people.  Those who truly follow him.  Those who are obedient to His commands.  Those who worship Him in spirit and in truth.

I really want to be one of those people, but if I am honest, and before God it is really the only option.  I am often not one of those people.  I am selfish, self centered, and put other things before Him.  That is stupid and I working on really making Him God.  One of the things I am going to try to do is get into His Word more.  To do that I am going to focus on praying the promises of God over me, my family, and my church.  So each day, I am going to try to post one of the promises of God.  Today's verse is Luke 12:29-31.

29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

This verse is very personal to me right now.  I have had way to much anxiety over what the future holds for me right now.  I am in a transition in my life.  I know that God has closed a door for me.  The question is what door, if any will he open for me next?  But I need to not only trust God, but work on growing closer to Him.  Seek ye first....
