2 Chronicles 7:14  Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

14 If My people who are called by My name humble themselves, pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.

God is waiting for His people.  God loves all people, but He has chosen to work through His people.  The problem in America is us.  His church, we are the ones He is waiting on.  Waiting on to do what?  Well the verse says to humble ourselves.  American culture in general is full of pride wrapped in self reliance.  Humble ourselves.  God is sick and tired of His people looking at the current election and being dismayed.  None of the potential candidates have the answer, none of them will be good for America, and most definitely none of them will save us.  The reason why God is sick and tired is that He is the answer and He has already sent the savior.  The thought of waiting on a politician to make our lives better is stupid.  We need to start by humbling ourselves and admitting we need God.  But here is the deal, God is not sick and tired of the sinner looking for politicians to be the answer, they don't have a savior and they are looking for help anywhere they can get it.  He is tired of His people looking to politicians for answers, we already have a savior!

And after we humble ourselves, pray and seek His face.  In His presence all fear is swept away.  I can be a worrier and filled with anxiety, but that is not how we should be, pray and seek His face, everything else will seem strangely dim!  We need His presence in our lives and in our nation.   And after you get up from praying, turn from your evil ways.  It is the same message that Elijah and John the Baptist brought us.  Repent.  Personal repentance, corporate repentance in the church, and repentance in our nation.  But you have to acknowledge sin for what it is in order to repent.  American's either cover up sin or worse, call what is evil good.  But once again, God is concerned with His people, the church, we need to deal with sin in the church, starting with the man or woman in the mirror!  But coach you are talking about legalism, no I am talking about righteousness.  We need to be a vessel both individually and corporately that God can use to change this nation!

Look what the verse says will happen when HIS PEOPLE humble themselves, pray, and seek His face.  He will hear them, forgive their sin, and heal their land!  We need to be the "IF" Church! 

I went to the altar at church yesterday, I felt God give me this message and He stressed it was for HIS PEOPLE.  He is not concerned about the world, they are broken because they are sinners without a savior, but He is really tired of HIS PEOPLE being broken and if HIS PEOPLE get fixed, America can get fixed and sadly if HIS PEOPLE do not get it fixed, America will not get fixed.  God wants the people with the answer to start acting like it, then He will hear us from heaven and heal our land!

What We Worship

I am sitting at an auto dealership waiting for my wife’s vehicle to be fixed, which means that I am sitting in a waiting room full of people and we are watching daytime television. The Tyra Banks show is now on and the Rachael Ray show just went off. Tyra is interviewing Alyssa Milano, who I hate to admit, but I had a crush on her as a teenager, but what boy who grew up in the 1980’s didn’t have a crush on her – maybe even had a poster on the wall, but don’t tell anyone. Anyway, I am getting a little off the point here so let me get back on track. When the Tyra Banks show came on, she came up through an elevator with smoke and spotlights and music in the background and the crowd gave her a standing ovation cheering wildly. Of course Tyra Banks is a superstar and probably one of the most beautiful women on this planet, but is it right to put these people up on a pedestal like this?
